This project aims to build upon Nathan Smith’s 960 Grid System to create a similar system that can accommodate today’s larger screens.
Smith’s 960-pixel wide grid system was developed for (what was at the time) a standard sized monitor with around 1024x768 pixel resolution. In the fast-changing world of technology, the standard-size monitor has quickly grown, with most modern screens boasting at least 1366 x 768-pixel resolution.
While Smith’s grid system is still as relevant and immensely useful to web designers as it was at its inception, the screens it was designed for have changed. This project's purpose is to take the 960 Grid System and use it as a framework to create a system made for the most common screen size currently, with a width of 1,366 pixels.
